How to Clean the Nike SB Jordan 4s After a Full-On Sneaker Disaster

When it comes to sneaker cleaning, it’s easy to talk about how great a product is. But at Reshoevn8r, we believe in putting our system to the test.

In this episode of Shoe Care Academy, we didn’t just clean a pair of SB Jordan 4s—we trashed them first. Think chocolate syrup. Strawberry sauce. Protein powder. Arizona heat. This wasn't just a dirty shoe—it was a science experiment in sneaker destruction.

Here’s how we brought them back from the brink using the Reshoevn8r Signature Shoe Cleaning Kit.

The Challenge: SB Jordan 4s vs. Real-World Chaos

Our guy Megell took on the "Navy" Nike SB Jordan 4s — already a complex shoe to clean thanks to its mixed materials and mesh panels. But we made the job tougher by coating them in layers of sticky, staining substances. After sitting under the Arizona sun for hours, the mess was baked in.

The mission: Prove that Reshoevn8r’s sneaker cleaning system could handle extreme conditions.

Step 1: Surface Cleaning with the Soft Bristle Brush

Every restoration starts with a good foundation. Megell used the Soft Bristle Brush to gently break down the top layer of syrup, powder, and grime, especially around the suede and mesh upper.

This step is essential for loosening dirt without damaging sensitive materials.

Step 2: Deep Clean with the Medium Bristle Brush

The mesh panels and midsoles required a bit more elbow grease. That’s where the Medium Bristle Brush came in. Designed for tougher materials, this brush made quick work of the embedded dirt without risking damage to the structure of the sneaker.

Step 3: Outsole and Laces with the Stiff Bristle Brush

No clean is complete without hitting the outsole. Megell used the Stiff Bristle Brush to revive the rubber traction, then moved on to the laces, giving every part of the shoe equal attention.

Step 4: The Reshoevn8r Laundry System

Next up: the final wash. Megell placed the sneakers into our patented laundry bag, added a Reshoevn8r Laundry Pod, and washed them in cold water only. (Pro tip: Always use dye-free detergent and cold water to avoid color bleeding or fabric damage.)

Step 5: Suede Restoration and Final Touches

Once dry, the suede toe cap had stiffened from the syrup and water exposure. To restore its texture, Megell used a dry Medium Brush to reset the nap, bringing the suede back to life. It’s a subtle but essential step for premium materials.

Why It Matters: Everyday Stains Are No Match

If Reshoevn8r can tackle a sneaker coated in syrup and protein powder, it can handle daily wear, dirt, and spills. Whether you’ve stepped in mud, spilled coffee, or just need a refresh, the Signature Kit and Laundry System are built to restore your shoes to like-new condition.
